Afternoon Tea at Grosvenor Hotel

< Return To London

London offers many options for an Afternoon Tea, pretty much each and every 5* hotel offers this experience but… There is one place in particular, which offers a sophisticated and delicious experience. Its the Park Room at the Luxury 5* Grosvenor House Hotel, which offers an ultimate quintessentially British tradition of Afternoon Tea experience. Their Afternoon Tea is named after Anna, the 7thDuchess of Bedford who is understood to be responsible for starting the ritual of Afternoon Tea in the early 1800s.

Frankly speaking, I ┬áhaven’t been to this hotel for quite some time and after a long time a nearly renovated hotel opened its doors and welcomed me at its elegant lounge room – the Park Room.┬áSet in a contemporary design, a typically British stately home environment with views overlooking Hyde Park.

It’s an ultimate place to relax after a busy London life and to enjoy the greatest selection of teas with distinguished afternoon tea experience and delicate pastries handcrafted by executive pastry chef, Dale DeSimone.

I was served with an assortment of freshly cut finger sandwiches, beautifully finished miniature gateaux, and homemade buttermilk scones served with Devonshire clotted cream and a mouth-watering array of fruit preserves. To complete this luxury experience, I complimented it with a selection of an unrivalled choice of loose-leaf teas.

At the end of the Afternoon Tea, I was offered with an additional slice of cake from a selection with a lovely box to bring it home. I had a fantastic time and cannot recommend this enough.

Afternoon Tea is a seriously decadent affair, and you should choose your place wisely, for me now the decision has been made. Thank you, once again, the whole team for such a wonderful hospitality and making my stay so welcomed.

If you happen to be in London, make sure you plan your visit to the Park Room and book your table in advance.
